P20 is a high-quality tool steel commonly used in the manufacturing of molds, dies, and tools that require good toughness and wear resistance. It is often referred to as a pre-hardened tool steel because it is delivered in a partially hardened state, usually at a hardness of 28–32 HRC (Rockwell Hardness C). This makes P20 an ideal material for the production of medium to high-volume plastic injection molds, die-casting dies, and other tooling applications.

Hardness : Typically 28–32 HRC when supplied in its pre-hardened state. It can be further hardened through heat treatment if needed.
Toughness : P20 has excellent toughness, which helps it withstand impact and mechanical stresses.
Machinability : The steel has good machinability, making it relatively easy to shape and finish, even when hard.
